Ms. Ruffini is a senior manager in the firm’s Health Care and Exempt Organizations Practice. A Certified Public Accountant in New York State, Ms. Ruffini has served the health care and exempt organization industries for over 12 years.
Ms. Ruffini focuses on managing the firm’s not-for-profit and health care tax compliance and consulting projects. She has experience in managing large case IRS coordinated examinations as well as smaller federal and state examinations of not-for-profit and healthcare organizations. Ms. Ruffini also has experience setting up common pay agents with both the IRS and NYS; applying for medical resident FICA refunds; and board and management education on the redesigned Form 990.
Previously, Ms. Ruffini was a senior manager at Deloitte, the global accounting and tax advisory firm. During her 12 years with Deloitte, she worked in the Health Care and Not-for-Profit Tax Group. Her clients included physician groups, prominent academic medical centers, community-based hospitals, nursing homes, managed care companies, captive insurance companies, real estate companies, museums, churches, professional sports leagues, business leagues, and other large not-for-profit public charities and private foundations. Ms. Ruffini has spoken at several Deloitte-sponsored local and national not-for-profit and health care seminars.
Ms. Ruffini is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. She has also spoken at various industry-sponsored health-care and not-for-profit seminars.
Ms. Ruffini earned a B.S. in Accounting from Villanova University and a Masters Degree in Taxation from Long Island University – C.W. Post School of Professional Accountancy.
